  5. subliminal messages on your own computer screen. You
  6. can easily modify the messages and even set your own.

  9. affirmations in over 25 categories. You can display
  10. text messages and pictures, or you can even use it for
  11. subliminal reading and revision.

  42. 1.    Print out this page for easier reference 
  43. before installing Self-help Subliminals.  These 
  44. instructions may seem long but they are very simple to 
  45. perform and are explained in great detail and clarity 
  46. for your benefit and ease of use.  You will find that 
  47. they are easy and quick to follow.
  48.  
  49. 2.    Install Self-help Subliminals:
  50.  
  51. In Windows 3:
  52. In File Manager, find the directory where the Self-help 
  53. Subliminals files were extracted to and run "setup.exe" 
  54. by double-clicking it with your mouse.
  55.  
  56. In Windows 95:
  57. In Windows Explorer, find the directory where the 
  58. Self-help Subliminals files were extracted to and run 
  59. "setup.exe" by double-clicking it with your mouse.
  60.  
  61.  
  62. Follow the instructions which appear on your screen.
  63. Please use the default settings unless 
  64. you have a particular reason not to.  Please write down 
  65. the name of the directory where you have installed 
  66. Self-help Subliminals if you choose another directory.
  67.  
  68. Starting Self-help Subliminals when opening Windows 
  69. (optional):
  70. During the installation process you are 
  71. asked if you want Self-help Subliminals to automatically 
  72. start up when you open Windows. Please select Yes or No.
  73. P.S. You can do this later from within the program.

  76. 3.    Run Self-help Subliminals:
  77. Run Self-help Subliminals in the same way that you would 
  78. run any other program:
  79.  
  80. In Windows 3: Find the Self-help Subliminals group and 
  81. run the Self-help Subliminals icon.
  82. In Windows 95: Press the START button, select PROGRAMS,
  83. select the 'Self-help Subliminals' group and select the 
  84. Self-help Subliminals icon.
  85.  
  86. The Self-help Subliminals screen will then appear.  
  87. It will not do anything until the specified time is 
  88. up when it will reappear to prompt you to take a break.
  89. If you want you can change the settings by using the 
  90. settings button.  Read the help file for more 
  91. information by pressing the "F1" button at any time.
  92.  
  93. This version will run for 14 days.

  113. B.    Troubleshooting the installation of 
  114. Self-help Subliminals
  115.  
  116. If you experience an error with installing 
  117. Self-help Subliminals,
  118. please ensure that you have closed down all other 
  119. programs while you are installing it. Some programs 
  120. such as virus checkers and Microsoft Office can cause
  121. installation problems.
  122.  
  123. To see what programs you have got running and to be 
  124. able to close them down you should:
  125.  
  126. In Windows 3.x:    Press the CONTROL and ESCAPE keys at 
  127.         the same time
  128. In Windows 95:  Press the CONTROL and the ALT and the 
  129.         DELETE keys at the same time ONCE only.
  130.         You will then see a list of programs 
  131.         which are open.  
  132.  
  133. Select the ones you want to close down and press the 
  134. END TASK button.  
  135.  
  136. (Please note that you should not close down "Program 
  137. Manager" or "Explorer".)
  138.  
  139. (N.B. If you are concerned about closing down a virus 
  140. checker then first scan these disks before doing so.)
  141.  
  142. If you are told that there has been a conflict in 
  143. running the installation package but you have checked 
  144. that no other files are open, please exit and restart 
  145. Windows and try again after closing down the extra 
  146. programs again.  Unfortunately Windows has some 
  147. problems with it and very occasionally this has had 
  148. to be done to install properly.
  149.

  158. C.    How to un-install Self-help Subliminals
  159.  
  160. If you need to un-install Self-help Subliminals (eg at the 
  161. end of your evaluation period) then this is how you do it:
  162.  
  163. Delete the Self-help Subliminals program group and icons by 
  164. selecting them and pressing the delete button.
  165.  
  166. If you have setup Self-help Subliminals to run automatically 
  167. when you enter Windows, then you must delete the icon
  168. in your StartUp group in Program Manager (or Explorer).
  169.  
  170. Find and delete the directory where the Self-help 
  171. Subliminals files were installed.
  172.
